El descubrimiento de unos libros en Barcarrota en el año 1992, entre los que se encontraban una Lingua de Erasmo, un Alborayque y hasta un Lazarillo de Tormes, cuya impresión era hasta entonces desconocida, se convirtió en un enigma. Este libro lo resuelve identificando a su propietario como el médico criptojudío Francisco de Peñaranda, originario de Llerena.
