En este libro se identifican ocho episodios de la historia colombiana que tuvieron lugar entre los primeros años de la Conquista y mediados del siglo XX. A la luz de cada uno de esos episodios se indaga por la posibilidad de destacar el contenido moral de las relaciones entre los protagonistas de la historia. La descripción de la historia colombiana hecha en términos morales busca fortalecer la posibilidad de atender al vínculo entre los hechos pasados y los hechos presentes.
