Este libro supone una aportación de gran interés a la Historia de la minería española. Aborda un tema poco tratado por la Historiografía como es la minería y metalurgia en Aragón durante la Edad Moderna. Junto a la evolución de las actividades extractivas en la Cordillera Ibérica, el análisis incluye la intervención privada e institucional en este proceso.
