El desarrollo de los sistemas hacendísticos constituye uno de los rasgos de la historia europea a lo largo del siglo XVII. En el caso castellano la fiscalidad figura entre las causas que se suelen alegar para explicar la decadencia del reino. La presente obra analiza el principal dacio de la monarquía durante buena parte del siglo, el servicio de millones, atendiendo a los rasgos de la organización creada para su cobro y al reparto geográfico de las recaudaciones.
