En aquest volum es recullen les 15 comunicacions que es van presentar sobre el t ema del col·loqui, i es presenten els resultats obtinguts per la recerca portada a terme els darrers anys en aquest territori. Pel que fa a l'àmbit estrictament català es destaquen els balanços sobre les excavacions de Sant Martí d'Empúries , la Moleta del Remei, Olèrdola i Sant Julià de Ramis, entre altres.
