Sinopsis del Libro

Marta Llorente lleva la mirada allí donde se desliza la luz " a partir de la experiencia de habitar el mundo, el paisaje, y en especial la arquitectura". Dice la autora: "he seguido el camino que recorre el trazo de la luz desde las fuentes más distantes hasta los espacios que habitamos. Escribirlo ha sido como ver brillar de nuevo la arquitectura: sentir el poder de la luz en construcciones del pasado y del presente que se han levantado bajo el mismo cielo. Al final de este camino, he reconocido una vez más lo mucho que necesitamos tanto iluminar como preservar los lugares que habitamos de la radiación de la misma luz, de manera cotidiana, desde la casa hasta la ciudad". Desfilan por estas páginas, a modo de un muy personal catálogo de la Historia de la Arquitectura, espacios sombríos y protegidos, tales como cabañas, pórticos y patios; construcciones que miran hacia la bóveda celeste o que imitan sus formas; torres que son también observatorios, o lugares en donde la luz resulta un asombro para los ojos o una necesidad para la salud. A nuestro tiempo, la autora lo llama el tiempo de las cajas de luz, y ese tiempo le permite revisar el trabajo de creadores emblemáticos, de magos de las luces y de las sombras que desfilan por este singular libro.
