Memoirs of Helena Precel (née Abramovich, born in Radom, Poland) as related to Alegre Israel. With the occupation of Radom by the Nazis she and her family were confined in the ghetto, and remained there until its liquidation. Then the family was separated; Helena and her mother were together in several camps, among them Majdanek and Auschwitz. Close to the end of the war they were taken from the camp of Malhof (Germany) on a death march; they escaped and found refuge in a camp for Polish prisoners in Leipzig. One month after the war's end, Helena's mother died in hospital. Her father and her sister perished in the camp of Bliżyn (Poland). After the war, Helena married a Jewish Allied soldier; they emigrated to Chile in 1947.
