A glossary of terms to assist health aides in translating for Spanish-speaking populations. Other health workers at various degrees of professional skills may also find the document useful. The Glossary is arranged from English to Spanish. It contains words, sentences, idioms and colloquial expressions. For the person whose first language is English, the question format may not be too helpful. The chief benefit is a familiarity with the folk vocabulary, and rephrasing highly technical directions into words which the patient will understand. The concepts and terminology are simplified so that they will not be beyond the patient's comprehension.
