Esta publicación narra los momentos históricos más significativos del aporte arquitectónico y la progresión urbana de la ciudad. Como material de formación y referencia pone en valor la contribución de Quetzaltenango a la arquitectura de Guatemala, con el fin de apreciarla y despertar el respeto que merece y el deseo de conservarla. La narrativa se organiza en seis capítulos que representan períodos históricos y culturales importantes, durante los cuales se generaron manifestaciones arquitectónicas particulares. El valor patrimonial es adquirido y relativo al que le otorguen las sociedades. Por esto, se espera que el documento genere en un amplio público, el interés por el patrimonio arquitectónico quetzalteco.
