The correspondence between Joan Mir and Josep Llus Sert - comprehensively compiled for the first time in this publication - offers an essential document for understanding the convergence between these two individuals despite the physical distance that separated them for most of their lifetimes. The correspondence is supplemented with personal statements from Mir and Sert in the form of writings, photographs, sketches, architectural plans, and press clippings. This material has been consulted in the archives of the Josep Llus Sert Collection at Harvard University, the Fundaci Pilar i Joan Mir in Mallorca, the Fundaci Joan Mir in Barcelona, and the Successi Mir in Palma de Mallorca. The letters sent from different places and relating in one way or another to their lives and their work become the narrative thread for reconstructing their shared vision, an unfulfilled project that was always in the back of their minds, which in turn shaped their artistic and architectural production.
