Sinopsis del Libro

La obra artística y literaria de José María Baez resulta especialmente atractiva por muchos motivos que van desde su especialización estética hasta su singular afecto al lenguaje. Resultado de ello es su carismática personalidad, donde la erudición y la sentimentalidad parecen entenderse en un cordial equilibrio que, no obstante, no deja lugar para certezas convencionales. Esta obra es, quizá, la prueba más patente de ello: "La vida con los otros" se nos ofrece como una colección de nueve ensayos breves, elocuentes y amenos, donde el autor nos deja ver su gusto por el íntimo tiempo compartido -siempre con el arte y la poesía como excusa vital-, concluyendo todo ello en un autorretrato sentimental fragmentario, amable y delicadamente honesto. Podemos decir que esta obra es, hasta la fecha, la más personal del autor en lo que podríamos entender como un inteligente paisaje de amistades.
