A partir de los recuerdos de la familia del autor y de otras familias campesinas que estuvieron involucradas en la muerte del hacendado Alberto Duque, se relata y reflexiona sobre las protestas agrarias que acabaron con el régimen de haciendas e hicieron de La Convención una dinámica comunidad de pequeños propietarios.
