Stations of the Heart
Sinopsis del Libro
Stations of the Heart begins with Jessica's traumatic childhood. She is abused by her father, but is too young to understand. Her mother, caught up in her own problems, is no help at all. The nightmares begin that will last thirty-eight years. One day young Jessica finds an uncompleted photo album with snapshots of her descendants in it, and she takes up photography in order to continue the family tree. Learning how to shut out what she doesn't want to see, and zooming in on what she does, Jessica begins to use the same method to view life. That is why it takes seventeen years of a supposedly happy marriage to Tom and a supposedly perfect family life with their three daughters before the truth of things is revealed. In far-away Italy, Jessica is given a second chance at life and love. With Paolo's gentle prodding, she takes a look at her dreams, and in doing so, she finds a quiet power and understanding that will help her face a surprising and unexpected future.
