Sinopsis del Libro

¿Qué pasó en las ciudades en la Sociedad del Conocimiento en la que fuimos entrando gradualmente? ¿Qué temores existían hace más de tres décadas, y cuáles se cumplieron? ¿Qué expectativas se formulaban? ¿Fueron satisfechas? ¿Qué nuevas tendencias no previstas fueron surgiendo a lo largo de estos años? Este libro fue escrito para tratar de responder a estos interrogantes. "I-Polis" se divide en cuatro partes. La primera, "Avances tecnológicos y transformaciones urbanas", reúne dos capítulos que tratan sobre los puntos históricos de inflexión de las tecnologías que generaron un quiebre con el "modo de hacer" técnico y social preexistente. Le sigue "La ciberciudad: ¿Arquitectura derretida?", en el que se analiza si la ciudad de los bits, la ciberciudad, ¿es arquitectura disuelta, descorporizada, fluida?
