Análisis de la arquitectura militar de la ciudad de Sevilla, a través del estudio de cuarenta y dos edificios que en algún momento tuvieron un uso militar, ya fuera industrial, de almacenamiento, administrativo, hospitalario o residencial. Se trata de forma singular el Cuartel de la Puerta de la Carne, primer edificio diseñado y construido expresamente para uso residencial de la tropa, considerado como modelo de la arquitectura militar, incluso por sus coetáenos. En la actualidad es la sede administrativa de la Diputación Provincial de Sevilla.
